Literature Text

It wasn't that you were my only friend,
it was that you were there
IN THE BEGINNING
When they made yellow crayons and crunchy leaves
starry skies and graveyards damp with mourning dew
and then told us we weren't allowed to touch the sun.
But you, precocious child, took the sun right down from the sky
broke it in two,
enfolding the first half into your smile,
and handing the other half to me,
my own personal Helios, giving me the reigns.
The hot metal singed my fingers, but I wrapped myself around it
in non-Euclidian ways,
and never let it go.
That's when we locked phalanges and promised,
this was it. You&Me
against an uncaring universe that stopped making sense hours ago.
Honestly, with my thirst for knowledge that could only be slaked
with 100% apple juice
and your penchant for making me laugh through tears
it was always going to end up this way.
You&Me, and the end of the world.
But who says the world has to win?
~No wonder I was blinded whenever I looked in your eyes~

Extra brownie points if you can guess what this is based on!

Is it Adam and Eve?
..
"IN THE BEGINNING"
"apple juice"
"handing the other half to me"
This is really neat!
